Brak en Jan survives and flourishes due to the support and sponsorships that we receive from companies and friends of the school.

The Board ensures that all donations and support that we receive is well invested in the school, either with Capital projects or ongoing costs.

Audits are done on a monthly basis.

We had a recent first visit from a Sponsor who supports our “Hemel op Aarde” educational books and mentoring project. He was so impressed with the School, The Teachers, The curriculum and Children.  Sponsors and friends receive feedback from the School with our regular newsletters.

We receive funds from The Educational Department ( 35%) Children’s Fees (16%) and Sponsorship and Fund Raising (49%)

Our main costs are Salaries ( 61%) and Transportation of the Children (16%)

Many of our children come from low-economic communities. A number of the parents only receive a Child Support Grant of R460 per month as income, they therefore struggle to pay school fees and transport costs.

Brak en Jan receives a subsidy from the Department of Education, however this only covers 35% of monthly expenses, we therefore rely on donations and sponsorship. We continually strive to do the best for our children.

We do not want to deny Early Child Education for children, if you would like to sponsor a child please contact our Principal, Mearle Hendricks (contact@brakenjan.org.za). The teachers  will keep the sponsor updated on the child throughout the year.

Alternatively you may wish to donate towards “Running Costs” or our “Wish List”.

You can use Payfast or PayPal, please use your “Name” as reference and email the school.
